What's a Corgi actually like?

The Pembroke Welsh Corgi was bred to herd cattle on the steep Welsh hills — and despite the short legs and adorable face, they still carry every bit of that working dog brain. They're small in size but big in personality: vocal, smart, food-driven, and absolutely fearless. The Queen's favourite breed for seventy years for a reason.

Adult size: 25–30 cm tall, 10–14 kg. Lifespan: 12–15 years. Coat: medium double coat, sheds heavily twice a year (be ready). Energy: medium-high — needs proper daily exercise, despite the short legs. Trainability: very high — they pick up commands quickly because they're hungry to learn (and to eat). Good with: kids, families, other dogs. Watch out for: weight gain, back issues if allowed to jump off furniture too young.
